What is the Color Spell Shawl Knit-Along?
Get ready to dive into the world of Joji Locatelli's Color Spell Shawl, a mesmerising pattern that will have you hooked from the first stitch and plenty to keep you entertained along the way. This pattern has enough interest to keep everyone entertained whilst still being approachable for less-experienced knitters. And if you fall into the less-experienced camp, the beauty of a knit-along is that you'll have plenty of support and encouragement along the way.
The knit-along will kick off on Friday 12 July and wrap up on Friday 23 August, giving you plenty of time to work your magic.
How to Participate
To join the fun, all you need is the digital download pattern (which can be purchased directly from the designer on Ravelry here [N.B. Ravelry Link]), our Color Spell Shawl kit in luxurious Kremke Soul Wool Edelweiss Alpaka 4ply yarn. Don't worry, we've got you covered with kits available for purchase. Simply grab your kit, cast on, and let the magic unfold!
If you'd rather choose your own colours there are 56 lovely shades to choose from in the gorgeous Edelweiss Alpaka sock yarn which comes in the cutest 25g balls. The pattern uses 7 shades in all. You'll need:
MC1 - 3 x balls
MC2 - 2 x balls
CC1 - 1 x ball
CC2 - 1 x ball
CC3 - 1 x ball
CC4 - 1 x ball
CC5 - 1 x ball
You can choose your Edelweiss Alpaka colours here.
Recommended needles = 3.5mm/80cm long circular needles.
If you'd like to see colours together before you go ahead with your purchase, drop us an email with your 7 chosen shade numbers, info@allabouttheyarn.co.uk, and we'll email you back with a photo.
When you order your own colours we will spot your order and add you to the list of KAL participants.
Zoom Meetings and Weekly Blog Updates
Throughout the knit-along, we'll be hosting Zoom meetings to connect with fellow knitters, share tips and tricks, and cheer each other on. You will receive links for the Zoom Meetings when you purchase your Color Spell yarn kit (this includes those choosing their own colours in the Edelweiss Alpaka). You can join in the KAL at any point along the way. We start on 12 July and finish on 23 August.
