Last Saturday we had a visit to our Chesterblade Hills yarn shop/teaching studio (between Frome and Shepton Mallet in Somerset) from one of our lovely hand-dyed yarn stockists, Skein Queen (aka Rachel Moutrie). Rachel brought along a selection of her beautiful hand-dyed yarns and we were very excited to see so much loveliness all in one place!
The sun shone, the company was delightful, lots of lovely hand-dyed projects were worn and admired, pattern suggestions were shared, people were able to sit outside to knit and crochet, tea was drunk and cakes were eaten, the red kites and swallows in particular put on a display for us - all in all it was a wonderful day!
We offered use of our ball winder and swift for a donation of £1.00 towards Asylum Aid who offer legal assistance to people in need who are trying to navigate our asylum system. I was pleased to be able to send them £10.00 at the end of the day and make a contribution to their vital work.
Thank you to Rachel for joining us and to everyone who came along and made it such a special day. I will definitely be organising similar events in the future!
Rachel left behind some yarn for our shop stock which can be viewed here.
