Isager Alpaca 3 is a gorgeous wool and alpaca blend chunky weight yarn. The clever chainette construction results in a knitted tube which is as light as air and gives amazing yardage for the weight.
Garments and accessories knit or crocheted in Isager Alpaca 3 are super soft due to the high alpaca content and beautifully warm and snuggly.
The suggested gauge for Isager Alpaca 3 is 16 stitches over 10cm but we also like this at a standard chunky weight gauge of 14 stitches over 10cm. As always we would recommend a gauge swatch to make sure you are happy with the fabric you are going to get at the gauge for your pattern.
This yarn does grow a bit after blocking (soaking and drying) - another good reason to make and block a gauge swatch.
We have a number of Isager knitting patterns available for Alpaca 3.
I made a lovely Berlin Cowl in Isager Alpaca 3 with 6mm needles and it was so lovely to knit with. It's extremely soft next to the skin and keeps me warm and toasty on the coldest days.
