A needle felting mat or block of some kind is essential to avoid broken needles and damaged surfaces when needle felting.
Sone of our kits include a foam block which will be stated in the product description. Otherwise we very much recommend one of these needle felting blocks which can be used again and again.
These foam blocks from Trimits are great for 2D needle felting, finishing off wet felted pictures or making 3D sculptures.
If you like room to work these foam blocks are an excellent alternative to a needle felting brush.
The block provides little resistance and allows fibres to mesh together easily and is perfect for use with felting needles.
