This easy lace knitting kit includes a digital copy of the Campfire Shawl pattern and 3 balls of BC Garn Summer In Kashmir, a gorgeously soft organic cotton/cashmere sport weight yarn.
I designed this with summer camping trips in mind and it is perfect to pop on for an evening around the campfire! It keeps off the chill on cooler summer nights but I have found is also lovely to wear in the colder months under my coat as it is so soft around the neck.
This simple garter stitch shawl designed by Nicky Jerrome is knit from the bottom up, shaped with yarn over increases at either end of every right-side row and an easy lace motif running up the spine. The tassels are optional but really make this shawl!
I’ve chosen BC Garn Summer In Kashmir, a sport weight yarn with beautiful softness and drape that is 90% organic cotton/10% cashmere. I prefer to wear my triangular shawls with the point at the front so this design is meant to show off the lace panel when worn in that way but, of course, you can wear it round your shoulders in the traditional way and have the panel showing down your back.
A quote from one of my lovely customers who is making the shawl:
"I'm loving knitting this pattern, easy yet interesting, and the yarn is very summery in weight and texture. Can't wait to finish this and wear it." ~ Niki
It would be very easy to add more repeats to the pattern but do bear in mind you would need to add more yarn. You could also make this pattern in finer or thicker weights of yarn but, again, you'd need to make sure you had sufficient quantity.
